Trombone Marathon attempt for Macmillan

Nathaniel Dye, the conductor of the Pavilion Brass Band based in East London will be running the London Marathon later this month. He aims to complete the 26.2 mile course whilst playing the trombone, fundraising for Macmillan Cancer Support in the process. Nathaniel is doing all of this whilst battling stage 4 terminal bowel cancer.
Commenting on his ‘bucket-list’ venture Nathaniel stated, “I may be dying but, for now, I choose to live and show the world through words and deeds that it’s possible to live a full life post-diagnosis. I’m proudly fundraising for Macmillan Cancer Care. They are well and truly there for people with cancer and those around them and your donation will really count. Everyone who donates can choose a track for the playlist, but I’ll only play ‘Flight of the Bumblebee’ if you pledge over £100 because that is a bit ambitious!”
Over £13,000 has been raised so far, and Nathaniel is delighted that he is being assisted in his attempt by playing on a green plastic trombone (the Macmillan colour), donated by Warwick Music. He is aiming to raise £33,000 for the charity, and donations are welcome via his JustGiving page at: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/Bowelcancerbucketlist
