GBBA relaunches Entertainment Contest

The Gloucestershire Brass Band Association (GBBA) has announced the return of its popular Entertainment Contest. The event will take place on Sunday 21st April at Chosen Hill School, Churchdown, Gloucester and builds on the encouraging success of its annual Own-Choice contest. A spokesperson explained, "We are delighted to bring back a rejuvenated event which we hop will attract plenty of bands to a new venue which includes a stage and large apron to add to the entertainment factor."

Bands in each of the two classes (Class A Registered Bands and Class B Youth, Training and Unregistered Bands) will perform a 20-minute set that must include a solo item. Chris King, Chair of the Music Commission of the European Brass Band Association has been announced as the adjudicator, with the judging taking place in the open. David Hayward has been announced as compere.
