New AoBBA Vice Chair

The Association of Brass Band Adjudicators (AoBBA) has announced the appointment of Martin Heartfield as Vice Chair of the organisation. With a long and illustrious career in the brass band movement, Martin has conducted and adjudicated bands at all levels. His adjudication activities have seen him on panels at the National Championships of Great Britain, Regional Championships in Yorkshire, Wales and the North of England, Butlins, Whit Friday, Wychavon Festival of Brass, and the National Youth Championships of Great Britain. For the last six years, Martin has successfully led AoBBA’s Trainee Adjudicator Programme; a role which he will continue in.

Martin takes over the role from Brett Baker who was appointed Chair at the organisation’s AGM earlier this year. Commenting on his appointment, Martin said: “I am both delighted and honoured to be appointed in this new role. I am very much looking forward to working with the rest of the Executive Committee on a number of new initiatives in the near future.”
