RCS Celebrates Nigel Boddice

The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland is putting on a special ‘Nigel’s Day’ in memory of the celebrated brass lecturer, tutor, trumpet player and conductor Nigel Boddice MBE who passed away in October 2022. The event, between 12 noon and 5pm on Sunday 17 March, will celebrate the life and legacy of Nigel with performances of some of his favourite works including Pines of Rome and Reunion and Finale (from Gettysburg) and many more by the RCS Wind Orchestra, Conservatoire Brass Ensembles and Juniors Brass.

A spokesperson for the event explained, “Alumni and friends of Nigel will feature heavily through the day including a performance by the Band for Bod, conducted by former head of brass Bryan Allen. Anyone and everyone who knew Nigel is invited to come along and share stories and memories of the great man and don’t forget to bring your instrument!”
