2023 Durham CBBA Festival of Brass

The 2023 Durham CBBA Festival of Brass was held at Peterlee on 5th November, with Ferrryhill Town taking the honours. In addition to winning the top prize out of a strong field of 14 competing bands, the second section band was also awarded ‘Best Trombones’ and ‘Best Middle of the Band’. David Clough (borrowed from Fishburn) played in Ferryhill Town Band's winning performance and also won an individual prize for Best Euphonium. Commenting on the result a spokesperson for the band stated, “We’re absolutely over the moon with the result, we've put some hard work and preparation into the performance and we managed to secure First Place at the Festival of Brass Contest. In addition to this we also received prizes for best 2nd section band, Best Euphonium, Best Middle of the Band and Best Trombone section. Massive congratulations to our MD (Jonathan Fenwick) collecting 2 conductor prizes along the way!”
