Kingdom Brass duo given SBBA life membership

Kingdom Brass bass trombone player William Sandell and former solo euphonium player Brian Paterson have been presented with their life membership medals from the Scottish Brass Band Association for 50 years’ service to banding.

The presentation of the awards took place at Kingdom Brass’ Autumn Concert in Kelty Community Centre on Sunday evening. William’s banding career started with Lochgelly Junior Band in 1969. He has since played with Kelty & Blairadam, Hillingdon, Buckhaven & Methil Miners and Lochgelly before joining Kingdom Brass in 1999. Brian began playing for Cowdenbeath Junior Band in 1964 and continued as a player with the senior band and then Kingdom Brass right up to his retirement last year.
