Tormod takes on Resident MD at Manger

Tormod Flaten has been appointed as the new Resident Musical Director of Manger Musikklag. The well respected euphonium soloist is based in Bergen with the Norwegian Navy Band and will join the band in the Autumn of next year. He has also recently been appointed Musical Director of Kleppe Musikklag Band.

Commenting on his new role Tormod stated, “I'm really looking forward to working with Manger who are deservedly regarded as one of the icons of the Norwegian brass band movement. I'm highly motivated to improve and develop the band further together with artistic leader, Allan Withington.”

Manger Musikklag Chairperson, Marianne Bratshaug Gjertsen, commented, “We have worked through a very thorough process, and we know Tormod is a consummate professional who can help push the band to new heights. In addition, we know that he will enjoy a good working relationship with Allan Withington for the years to come. We would like to offer a warm welcome to Tormod and look forward to next autumn.”
