Former members invited to join in Stranraer Birthday Celebrations

Stranraer Brass will be celebrating its 50th birthday on Saturday 4th November with a reunion concert which will include past and present members. The concert in the Ryan Centre in Stranraer will start at 3pm. The first half will feature the current band and, after the interval, they will be joined on stage by many former players.

The band started life as Stranraer Youth Band, conducted by Jim Smith, and became Stranraer Brass in 2002. In its 50 years, the band has been proud to represent Scotland at several National Finals and to become an increasingly important part of the life of the town and the local area.

In the evening on the Saturday, there will be a chance to get together in the Millennium Centre in Stranraer from 7pm. There will be live music, a buffet, birthday cake and the chance to catch up with old friends or to make some new ones.

Tickets for each event are £5 and are available here: https://www.ticketsource.co.uk/whats-on?q=Stranraer%20Brass The band would be delighted to hear from any former players who would like to join in the celebrations.
