Open Champion Opens its Doors

On Wednesday the 6th of September, The Brighouse and Rastrick Band is once again opening its doors to the public, in order to offer a glimpse of the band’s preparations for the 2023 British Open Brass Band Championships. The Championships take place on Saturday September 9th at Birmingham Symphony Hall, where Brighouse will be hoping to make it a double as the band performs Thierry Deleruyelle’s challenging test piece ‘Sand and Stars’.

Commenting on the event a spokesperson for the band stated, “This year is a special one, as we hope to retain our title and once again be crowned as champions! We are certainly giving it our all, under the fabulous leadership of Professor David King, so come and see what we’ve been up to.” The rehearsal will take place at Brighouse Central Methodist Church with a start time of 8pm.
