Five Lakes takes NABBA Championships

Five Lakes Silver Band from Rochester Hills, Michigan claimed the Championship Section title at the North American Brass Band Association (NABBA) Championships at the Von Braun Centre in Huntsville, Alabama. Led by Christopher Ward the band delivered a blistering performance of the set work ‘Titan’s Progress’ by Pallhuber, which was enough for adjudicators Dr Howard Evans, Col (ret.), Thomas Palmatier and Allan Ramsay to award the band its first top-flight NABBA victory over defending champion Fountain City. James Madison University Brass Band in third place completed the podium prizes. The First Section title was won by Princeton Brass Band, with Second and Third Section victories to San Francisco Brass Band and Jacksonville State University Brass Band respectively.
