Cooperation wins Fife Festival
The Cooperation Band took the honours at the Fife Brass Band Festival this weekend. Twelve bands, representing all contesting sections, had entered the event which took place in the Lochgelly Centre, Lochgelly. The adjudicator was Anne Crookston and entertainment judges were Jill Gillespie and Madeleine Baker. Compere for the day was Susan Chown.
Bands were required to play an own-choice entertainment programme, which included a solo item. Kirkintilloch Youth Band entertained the audience with short concert while the results were prepared. The most entertaining band was Campbeltown Brass and best soloist was Jim Hayes, principal cornet of the cooperation band. Trophies and a voucher awarded to the highest placed band in each section. First, second and third placed bands overall received a trophy and £150, £100 and £75 respectively. Full results can be seen below:
