Friary Fundraising Duo

Good luck to Friary Band’s horn and euphonium duo of Kelly Harrison and Sam Noden who will be leaving their instruments behind and putting on their running shoes to take part in the London Marathon tomorrow (23rd April. The pair are hoping to raise funds for the SSAFA (Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Families Association). Both have good reason to raise funds for SSAFA with Kelly and her children having been supported by SSAFA in the past, and Sam an RAF musician.

Sam explained, "I went into the military because few jobs cover both my passions: fitness and music. I know veterans who have struggled on leaving service and SSAFA has helped them. I'm really pleased to raise funds for them." Kelly, who is Head of Music at Belfairs Academy in Leigh-on-Sea, Essex added: "I've been a runner for a while, but this is my first marathon. Sam and I are really enjoying training together. It is great fun, and we support and motivate each other."

You can support Sam and Kelly, and SSAFA, by making a pledge on their London Marathon fundraising page:  https://2023tcslondonmarathon.enthuse.com/pf/sam-and-kelly
