RCS Bridging Programme

The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland is running a BEd Bridging Programme in Fair Access to support young musicians who want to be music teachers. The programme is designed to explore the skills and qualities of a good teacher and enhance people’s understanding of the educational context of music teaching and learn about educational policy and the Curriculum for Excellence.

The core sessions will aim to develop vocal leadership skills and build understanding of related policies, lesson planning and coaching skills. The sessions are interactive and inclusive and participants may be offered optional activity in subjects such as piano accompaniment, music technology and composition. In addition, potential students will gain valuable experience before applying for the BEd and meet like-minded peers.

Sessions start in September 2023. You must be aged 16 or over and meeting specific eligibility criteria (see registration form). For further information and to register your interest, visit this RCS website page.
