Cory Side by Side

Cory Band recently launched its ‘Side by Side’ initiative by welcoming three young players to their bandroom. The project is run in collaboration with the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama in Cardiff. 

Jennifer Richardson (cornet) from Shirley Band, Phoebe Mallinson (flugel) from BD1 Brass and Rory Arthur (Eb Bass) from Egham Band joined a Cory rehearsal where MD Philip Harper pieces for upcoming concerts such as 'Balkan Dance' and 'Variations on Laudate Dominum', as well as preparing for the challenge of retaining their European title at the Championships in Malmo next month.

Commenting on the initiative Philip explained, "It was great to offer a chance to these talented young people, all of whom are still at school. I hope it inspired them to aim high in their banding careers. I'm sure they will all do brilliantly."
