Nielsen is new LPO Co-Principal Trumpet

Thomas Nielsen, a former Principal Cornet of the National Youth Brass Band of Great Britain has been appointed co-principal trumpet of the London Philharmonic Orchestra.

Tom is familiar to brass audiences as the winner of the 2018 BBC Radio 2 Young Brass Award and comes from Salvation Army background having emulated his father by performing with the International Staff Band.

 Tom continues the legacy of former NYBB principal cornets moving into orchestral careers including Maurice Murphy and more recently Philip Cobb (BBC Symphony Orchestra), James Fountain (London Symphony Orchestra) and Tom Fountain (Ulster Orchestra).
