UniBrass 2023 Line up and Adjudicators

With less than three weeks to go, UniBrass have announced the line up of bands and adjudicators for the 2023 UniBrass Contest, being held in Warwick Arts Centre on Saturday 11th February. A spokesperson for the event stated, “Twenty-two university brass bands and over 700 students will take to the stage to perform a twenty-minute entertainment to entertain the audience and adjudicators. In particular we are excited to welcome both the Universities of Bath Brass Band and the University of Liverpool Brass Band, as part of a joint performance with the University of Bangor, who will both be making their UniBrass and contesting debuts!”

The four adjudicators that will decide who will walk away as UniBrass Trophy and UniBrass Shield champions have also been announced. Philip Harper, renowned composer and Cory Band’s Musical Director will be alongside Tenor Horn soloist and Chair of the Association of Brass Band Adjudicators, Sheona White, overseeing the Trophy Section. The results of the Shield Section will be determined by the Cory Band’s flugel soloist Helen Williams, alongside the Musical Director of the Nailsworth Band Anri Adachi.

Tickets for what is sure to be another highly entertaining day are available on the Warwick Arts Centre website. As well as the contest, UniBrass 2023 will be rounded off with a gala concert from the world’s number one ranked Cory Band.
