Mae Barr joins Geneva Instruments ambassador team

Campbeltown Brass and National Youth Brass Band of Scotland solo horn player Mae Barr has been appointed a Geneva Young Ambassador. As part of the company’s initiative with the Geneva Foundation to encourage grassroots brass banding by supporting young stars, Geneva Instruments has announced that it has welcomed Mae to its team.

At just fifteen years old Mae, who plays a Geneva Cardinal horn, is quickly building a reputation as one of Scotland’s exciting young talents. She helped Campbeltown Brass to win the second section at the Scottish Championships in March and then the national second section title at the Brass Band Championships of Great Britain in September. “I personally heard about Mae at the national finals Cheltenham and was immediately impressed,” said Richard Bates, development director of Geneva Instruments. “Mae is a rising star across our movement and plays with a fantastic maturity. I can't wait to see her progress and follow in the footsteps of her idols.”
