Sing Swing with Foden’s
Foden’s Band has launched a singing project with long-time collaborator Matt Ford and Love Music Trust for budding swing singers in Cheshire East.
A spokesperson for the band explained, “In conjunction with Arts Council England, we’re giving young singers in the Cheshire East region the chance to enter a competition to take part in a Swing Era workshop and a public performance with Foden’s.”
The project, supported by Arts Council England, will provide the opportunity for young singers aged 11-19 attending secondary schools or college within Cheshire East to apply for a chance to receive a 15 to 20 minute session with Matt looking at the stylistic approach to Big Band / Swing singing on a selected song. The masterclass will take place on Thursday 16th March 2023 at Bradwall Village Hall from 4pm and 7pm then after a short break will have the opportunity to rehearse their song with Foden’s band from 7:30pm - 9:30pm.
A week later on Tuesday 21st March 2023 those on the vocal programme will be invited to perform their song on stage at Congleton Town Hall in a concert with Foden's Band, in an event that will also feature Matt Ford.
