McDonough Joins WFEL Fairey

The WFEL Fairey Band has announced that Peter McDonough is the band’s new Solo Euphonium. Prior to graduating with distinction from the Royal Northern College Of Music, Peter performed as Principal Euphonium with the European Youth Band and the National Youth Brass Band and Wind Orchestra of Wales. He was a finalist in the 2019 BrassPass.tv Young Brass Award and the 2018 EBBA European Solo competition. During this time he enjoyed success with both Wingates and most recently Rainford. 

Commenting on his appointment, Peter stated, “I'm delighted and honoured to be joining the WFEL Fairey Band, a band of such quality and history that I have long admired. Having been warmly welcomed during their recent concerts in Beaminster and Stroud, where I was already featured as a soloist, I’m really excited to be part of their future projects, concerts and contests. I must also thank Rainford Band for making my two years there very enjoyable, even with the difficulties faced during the pandemic!”
