Extension for Conducting Competition Entries

Following requests from conductors, the Brass Band Conductors’ Association has moved the deadline for entry into this year’s flagship conducting competition back to 30th April.  This will give busy conductors time over Easter to prepare their video submissions for the first stage of the competition.

This is an exciting opportunity for conductors of all levels and nationalities to take part in a brass band conducting competition.  Presentations will be made to the top 3 finalists and the winner will receive a cash prize of £200, a year's free membership of the Brass Band Conductors' Association and a glass plaque. They will also have the opportunity to work in rehearsal and performance, with 2 of the UK's leading Brass Bands. There is also a prize for the best UK-based entrant.

Following the video selection round, 12 finalists will be invited to the live final to be held on 18th June at Eccles Town Hall.  The shortlisted candidates will demonstrate their test-piece conducting skills at the helm of the Hammonds Band.  The final 6 candidates will then go on to conduct a concert item performed by the Eccles Borough Band in the Gala Concert.

To enter the BBCA conducting competition, please  submit your video entries by midnight on Saturday 30 April.
