First Championship Win for Haverhill

Haverhill Silver led the field this weekend in the London & Southern Counties Regional Championships winning its first ever Championship Section regional title with a terrific performance of Heaton’s ‘Contest Music’. Led by Musical Director Paul FIlby the band impressed adjudicators Stephen Roberts and Steve Sykes and were rewarded with Outstanding Cornet and Outstanding Euphonium prizes in addition to the all-important National Final invitation. Joining Haverhill in October will be second placed Redbridge Brass.

Congratulations are also deserved by lower section winners East of England Co-op, City of Norwich, Bradwell Silver and Hangleton as well as qualifiers Sandhurst Silver, Tilbury, Wantage Concert Brass, Olney Brass, Chichester City and Hemel Hempstead.
