Midlands Regional Results

Congratulations to Desford Colliery on claiming the top spot in the first Regional competition of 2022. Having drawn last, the band put on a fantastic performance of Wilfred Heaton’s ‘Contest Music’ under the steadfast leadership of MD Michael Fowles. Ratby Co-operative ran the winners close and claimed the second qualifying place for the October National Finals in London’s Royal Albert Hall.

Congratulations are also owed to Staffordshire, Stamford Brass and Ratby Co-operative Mid the winners of their respective sections in addition to Gresley Colliery, Harborough and City of Birmingham who also qualify for the Lower section Nationals in Cheltenham.

The Fourth Section contest will take place next weekend (6th March) with a full report appearing in the next issue of Brass Band World magazine.
