Kapitol announces Social Media Coordinator for RAH

Kapitol Promotions has announced that their Social Media Co-ordinator at the Championship Section Final will be Kirsty Jayne Jones. She will be covering all aspects of the event, and will give people a look “behind-the-scenes” at arguably the most prestigious live music venue in the world: London’s Royal Albert Hall.

Kirsty is no stranger to brass banding, having started with Pontypool Town Band aged just five years old. She performed with Cwmbran Brass Band, The Rogerstone Community Band & Abergavenny Borough Band whilst growing up, as well as being part of the Gwent Music Greater Gwent Youth Brass Band for most of her childhood, including Principal Cornet for multiple years. Kirsty was accepted onto the National Youth Brass Band of Wales in 2002, and performed on five courses, including on Solo Cornet. In 2009 she was asked to be part of the European Youth Brass Band in Oostende (Belgium), and was appointed to play on the Solo Cornet bench. Kirsty studied Music at Cardiff University between 2006-2009, and in her first year was asked to join the BTM Brass Band where she is still a proud member.

Highlights of her banding career include a 10-day tour of Canada with NYBBW, the Gala Concert performance with the EYBB in the Kursaal Oostende, and performing as part of BTM’s cornet duet in Vienna Nights at the Grand Shield (which qualified BTM for the British Open for the first time in their history).

Kirsty is also a musicals fanatic, having seen the hit musical Wicked UK 29 times!! She is extremely excited to be going to London this weekend, and is looking forward to meeting the performers and audience as part of her event coverage – even though her “boss” for the day will be Tim Jones, her husband and Event Manager at Kapitol Promotions!
