New Recruits at Flowers

Flowers has recently announced a number of new personnel to complete the band’s line-up, including three new moves in the cornet section: Steph Ayton joins on Solo Cornet, Josie Allen moves up a seat to Rep and Claire Cooke joins on 2nd Cornet. Lower down the band Lara Jones joins on first horn, Ruth Mellor on 2nd Baritone, Peter Richards on Bass Trombone and Tony Whittingham will be caretaker Eb Bass in the short term. 

With new beginnings there have also been some fond farewells to: Sheila Allen, John Jemmet (aka, Lenny), Jasper Dommet, James Harris and Carlton Sykes, who have departed during lockdown. A spokesperson for the band stated, “We are thrilled with the announcement of the new personnel joining the band and look forward to working together. We also thank all of the departing players for their commitment, talent and friendship over the years; they will always be a part of the Flowers Family.”
