Foden's Whit Friday
Foden's Whit Friday Foden's have announced the draw details of the 119 bands who will compete in their 2021 Online Whit Friday Contests to be held on the weekend of Friday 28th & Saturday 29th May.
A spokesperson from the band was keen to remind potential audiences of the rationale behind the event, “Whilst our Online Whit Friday Championships will be a celebration of every band's efforts to keep making music throughout the pandemic, we are also looking to raise as much as possible to support the future of the Saddleworth & Tameside Whit Friday Championships whose venues have taken a huge financial hit with the cancellations of this year's and last year's events.
“Thanks to the generosity of the competing bands, we are already close to the £2,000 mark and the JustGiving page is now open to the public. So if you are able to contribute towards this fantastic cause, please visit: https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/whitfriday - there will be reminders of how to donate shown throughout the event on Friday & Saturday. Any donation will help the venues on both circuits come back stronger in 2022 and beyond!”
The contest will be broadcast tomorrow at 4.00pm (Friday 28th May) with the first 60 bands (broken into 20 band chunks) followed on Saturday 29th May with the remaining 59 bands also starting at 4.00pm, and followed by the announcement of the results.
