Foden’s Heritage Fund Boost

Foden’s Band has announced its success in an application to the Heritage Lottery Fund for £26,400. The focal point of this latest award is to further our community engagement by creating a museum in which all of the band’s historical artefacts will be stored and open to the public, as well as an option for a unique 'virtual' tour. A new work will be commissioned to celebrate the opening of the ‘Museum’ as well as a launch concert to an invited audience.

It will also see Foden’s undertake a number of recording projects for the 'heritage' site - www.fodensbandheritage.co.uk - of previously unpublished works, install a piece of interactive public art in Sandbach complete with QR codes for visitors to learn more about the band’s history and allow 20 members of Foden’s youth organisations to take part in the nationally recognised 'Arts Award' scheme. To increase accessibility to the project we will be working with a group of young people with hearing impairments to add sign language and subtitles to a number of new interactive videos. Foden’s is very grateful to Vice President Carole Crompton for her work in submitting this bid.
