Legends to appear at Black Dyke Virtual Brass Day

Black Dyke has confirmed the exciting news that the Legends Spotlight within its Virtual Brass Day will feature James Shepherd and John Clough.

Speaking about the day's action-packed schedule, Course Administrator, Alison Childs told BBW: “We have some great music for the course; however, the centrepiece is undoubtedly Eric Ball’s stellar classic, Journey into Freedom. The contribution made by James Shepherd and John Clough to Black Dyke’s 1969 winning performance is legendary, so to have the opportunity to discuss the performance and their time as Principal Cornet and Solo Euphonium at Black Dyke will be a special for all present."

The Virtual Brass Day, which takes place on 27th March 2021, will be led by Black Dyke’s Director of Music, Prof. Nicholas Childs, together with Richard Marshall, Connor Lennon, Siobhan Bates, Brett Baker, Daniel Thomas, Matthew Routley and Gareth Hand.
