Sebastian Rowe is a Double Champion of Champions

The Band Association of New South Wales recently held is prestigious State Champion of Champions online event, where Sebastian Rowe won both the Under 15 and Under 19 Champion of Champions titles. 

The move to an online presentation saw an incredible response from performers with over three hundred entries across all sections of the competition. John Saunders had the enviable task as principal adjudicator to decide the placings in the under 15, under 19 and open events, all of which were supported by Besson Buffet Crampon and broadcast by www.Brassbanned.com.

The Open competition was won by tenor horn player Nicky Abkiewicz from Sydney City Brass who gave a great account of John Golland's 'Rhapsody No 1 for Eb Horn'. The Under 15 and Under 19 Brass Champion of Champions was euphonium player Sebastian Rowe from the Gunnedah Shire Band, who gave an excellent performances of 'Endearing Young Charms' and 'Mayfly Blues' by Belgian composer Stan Nieuwenhuis. John Saunders stated that Sebastian was a clear winner showcasing fantastic playing and range of skills and confirmed that his was the "standout performance across the board".

There was also plenty for the St George Brass Band to celebrate as their players and ensembles swept the board in the Under 15 and Under 19 Duet; Trio; Quartet and Ensemble categories.
