Provisional date for Cheltenham Finals 2021

Kapitol Promotions has released a provisional date for the Sections 1-4 Finals 2021, which will hopefully be held over the weekend of Saturday 18-Sunday 19 September 2021 at The Centaur (Cheltenham Racecourse). Sections 4 and 1 in order would take place on the Saturday, with Sections 3 and 2 in order on the Sunday.

The 2020 event was unfortunately cancelled due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, but Kapitol Promotions has since invited the 2020 qualifiers to compete at the 2021 event. The set test-pieces from 2020 will also be used:

SECTION 1 - Connotations (Edward Gregson)

SECTION 2 - Lions of Legends (Thierry Deleruyelle)

SECTION 3 - Kaleidoscope (Philip Sparke)

SECTION 4 - An Elgar Portrait (Dan Price)

Whilst Kapitol Promotions cannot guarantee that this event will go ahead as planned (due to the ever-changing nature of the COVID-19 pandemic), it is hoped that in 10 months’ time the Sections 1-4 Finals can go ahead as "normally" as possible, in a COVID-safe environment, and that all competing bands and the general public can come together at Cheltenham Racecourse for a special celebratory weekend of brass band contesting.

Official invitations will be sent to all competing bands in spring 2021 with further details released in due course.
