GBBA Solo and Ensemble Festival

The Gloucestershire Brass Band Association has launched a lockdown initiative aimed at Association members to boost banding in the area throughout the next difficult period faced by the country. The annual Association Contest would usually be held in November, but with current restrictions the GBBA has take the decision to ‘Go Solo’ instead. Voucher prizes from Big Shiny Brass and W&R will be awarded to the successful performers judged by Brett Baker, by of kind sponsorship from Geneva. Entry to the competition is free for members and will hopefully provide musicians with some inspiration over the next month.

GBBA Secretary Karin Lythell commented, “GGBA are keen to support its members and the brass band movement in keeping the spirit of banding alive. GBBA hope that this free, friendly festival and community competition will encourage you to keep playing during lockdown and enjoy the music we make and love. Keep playing music. Keep banding going.”

Each entry is FREE and should be made as a video in landscape orientation and sent to GBBA via email or WeTransfer (www.wetransfer.com) to glosbba@gmail.com by 14th December 2020.
