National Band of New Zealand in Concert

The National Band of New Zealand, sponsored by Besson, presents ‘Virtuoso Brass’, its first and only concert of 2020. The event will take place next month at the Gallagher Academy of Performing Arts Centre in Hamilton on November 1st.

One of the World’s finest brass bands, led by Musical Director David Bremner, will showcase New Zealand’s best brass and percussionists in a programme that has something for everyone. The repertoire is as diverse as Dvorak and Mendelssohn to Jazz and Dance and will even include a premier performance of a new work written specially for the event by composer Jack Bewley.

Principal cornet and Besson International artist Harmon Vanhoorne, solo horn Mike Ford and solo euphonium Steve Miles will be amongst the featured soloists and will also be amongst the players delivering a free workshop the day before. All brass and percussionists are welcome to the workshop which will be held at St John’s College Library at 4pm on Saturday 31st October.
