BrassFestUK launches Isolation3

BrassFestUK has opened its doors once again for anyone who wants to be part of the latest project, with registrations opening last Sunday afternoon there was a flood of players signing up for the latest venture. Organiser Rob Tompkins said, “There were a lot of players from Isolation1 and Isolation2 that were keen to be part of the next project, the feedback I got from so many players was just amazing, some very heart warming stories and it really did make all the hours put into the project worth while.”

Rob has invited Siobhan Bates to be part of the new project after her inclusion in Isolation2 gave the registration numbers a huge boost, she was very happy to put her name forward. Invitations were also extended to a number of other high profile players, many of whom were very happy to offer their services. In addition there have also been a number of excellent players signing up, which makes the Isolation3 project even more exciting for those that want to take part.

Rob said, “I sent out some messages to players that I thought would encourage others to join the project and was amazed by the response, I hoped for a couple to say yes, but there are now sixteen well known and much respected musicians putting their bit in to help the project. These include: Kirsty Abbotts, Siobhan Bates, Kyle Blake, David Childs, Dewi Griffiths, Gareth Hand, Simon Howell, Tom Hutchinson, Gareth Johnson, Steve Lomas, Hannah Plumridge, Harvey Rees, Ryan Richards, Matt Routley, Steve Stewart, Lode Violet, Helen Williams and Ali Woodman.

“It is a great boost to the project to have these players involved, but I also wanted to make sure that no one felt that they could not be part of the team and the star of Isolation2 was 9 year old Koru. She has joined the project again and is very excited to be playing alongside these players and has already been researching them all.”

The chosen piece for Isolation3 is ‘Forty Second Street’ arr. C Wormald a great piece that everyone will hopefully enjoy recording. The closing date for registration is Sunday 6th September, recordings will need to be back with Rob by Sunday 20th September. The finished video should be ready to drop on Saturday 10th October, the date chosen because it was the day that the National Championships would have taken place.

If you wish to register then head to https://www.brassfestuk.com/isolation-video-3 and fill in the online form. Music and instructions will be sent to each player that registers. Almost three hundred videos were submitted for Isolation2 and it is hoped that for Isolation3 that number will be exceeded.
