NYBBGB Virtual Concert

Over the past two weeks the NYBB has held its Summer Course as it has done every year since 1952. Bramwell Tovey and Nicholas Childs have worked with the very best young musicians in Great Britain to create what promises to be a spectacular Concert on Friday 7th August. However, this is a concert with a difference; this was a Summer Course with a difference. For the first time in the 68 year history of the NYBB this Summer Course was virtual.

Speaking about the concerts Chairman Robert Childs stated, “The children in the National Children’s Band and the National Youth Band all attended the Summer Course from home. The result was phenomenal and the end of course concert is unbelievable. I know we all cherish and vividly remember our time in the NYBB and I understand that usually a concert in August has problems to support. However, this year you don’t have to travel, you don’t have to buy a ticket, you don’t even have to watch the whole concert! You can watch and listen to these talented young musicians from the comfort of your own home or from wherever you might be this coming Friday at 7.00pm.”

The concert will include two World premiere performances of works by Peter Graham and Bramwell Tovey and features internationally acclaimed guest soloists David Childs and Brett Baker.

Robert Childs concluded, “When was the last time you listened to a brass band concert and who knows when will be the next? Please support these young sensational musicians and tune in to the NYBBGB Facebook or YouTube pages at 7.00pm on Friday 7th August. Don’t miss this unique event, I promise you, it will be absolutely amazing.”
