A4 Brass announce Finalists and Judges

 

A4 Brass Quartet has announced the finalists and esteemed adjudicators for their hotly contested ‘Composition Competition 2020’. A spokesperson from the ensemble stated, “It is with great pleasure that we can announce we have secured the services of Bramwell Tovey and Professor Edward Gregson as the external panel members for this, our third annual composition competition. Both Bramwell and Edward are leading figures globally in the classical music world and are composers we have had the privilege of working with on new music in recent years.”

Tovey and Gregson will assist the quartet in adjudicating the finalists, whose works have been chosen following a rigorous selection process conducted by the quartet members. The six finalists are:

‘Cottonopolis’ - Jake Thorpe
‘Fission Nuclear’ - Sachveen Singh
‘Five Pictures from Manchester’ - Mattias Arveheim
‘Rush Hour’ - Robert Visser
‘The Manchester Ballads’ - Andrew Champion
‘Whitworth Street West’ - Florence Anna Maunders
