Foden's receive a funding boost

Foden’s Band have announced that they have been successful in obtaining £33,450 through Arts Council England’s National Lottery funded 'Covid 19' programme.

Arts Council England made £160 million of emergency funding available for those organisations and individuals who have suffered as a result of Covid 19 with only those who have been previous recipients of ACE funding eligible to apply. Covid 19 funding was set up to 'afford practitioners and organisations time to stabilise, to think, and to plan for the future.'

Speaking on behalf of Foden's Mark Wilkinson commented, “We are extremely grateful to ACE for accepting our application. Like all organisations Foden's has been seriously affected by Covid 19 and the funding allows us to look at ways to increase our online presence and interact with audiences in a new and innovative way. We are also able to purchase equipment and work with professionals to allow us to become a leader in this area.

“I would like to thank Carole Hirst for coordinating and submitting the bid on our behalf. Carole is a previous Solo Baritone player with the band and since becoming our Strategic Arts Funding Advisor in 2016 has been instrumental in securing funding from Arts Council England’s National Lottery funded 'Grants for the Arts programme 2016 - 2019' Heritage Lottery Funding through the ‘Our Heritage’ Programme in December 2016 and 'Catalyst' funding in 2019.”
