Student solo contest open for entries
A new on-line solo competition has been organised by Christopher Hall, a student at the University of Salford. Owing to the Coronavirus pandemic Christopher had to change his intended final year project, so created the on-line solo competition with the help of a friend. Adjudicators for the project have been confirmed as conductor Ben Dixon and Geneva artist, Brett Baker.
Appropriate rules and conditions apply and entrants under the age of 18 must have permission from a parent or guardian to send in their on-line entry.
Format/Rules:
1. Recordings sent to bosolochampionships@gmail.com or to the facebook account 'Brass Online Solo Championships'.
2. Contestants must also provide a name, date of birth, and a digital copy of the solo they are performing, for the adjudicators
3. Recording must be a video format showing the participant playing, in one take
4. Any solo can be played
5. Adjudicators to listen to recordings blind, and will mark performances out of 100, with written remarks
6. Placings will be determined by a sum of all points
7. Awards will be allocated based on the placings
8. The prize winning performances will be uploaded to our facebook page
9. Free to enter
10. Entries to be entered by midnight on April 5th
