Ev-entz provides radio assistance

Newport based music company Ev-entz, run by percussionist Adrian Evans, has stepped up and provided much needed technical support to the local Royal Gwent Hospital.

Speaking to BBW, Adrian explained, “Dave Mitchell, a long-time friend, whose wife is a paediatric nurse in the Accident and Emergency department of the RGH, contacted me on Sunday morning. They needed mobile radios (walkie-talkies) in order to have safe contact between the clean and infected areas of A and E. I had eight that we normally use for large events, but clearly won’t be using for the foreseeable future, so I offered them. As they’re kept individually boxed, I knew there would be no issue over contamination. I dropped them off to them and I believe they are now being used successfully at the hospital.”

In typically modest fashion Adrian concluded, “That’s all there was to it really, I’m just glad I can do something to help, however small.” It is clear from social media outpourings however that Ev- Entz’s gesture is not seen as small by others with comments such as, “Community working at its best. Adrian Evans donated the use of eight mobile radios to the Royal Gwent Hospital to help staff communicate. Another community hero, well done Adrian.”
