Massed concert for British Heart Foundation

Filton Concert Brass and Lydbrook Band will perform a massed concert with Bristol Airbus Choir and Bristol Royal Mail Choir in aid of British Heart Foundation on 4th April.

Samantha Ford, a spokesperson for the event explained, “The concert will celebrate the bands’ connection with Ian Holmes who suffered a cardiac arrest when taking a rehearsal with Filton before the 2019 West of England Area contest and is the resident conductor of Lydbrook Band. The Lydbrook Band also suffered the loss of Yvonne Hamblin a few months ago, who died unexpectedly and was a member of the band for many, many years. The joint concert will be featuring a massed piece ‘Serenata’by Liz Lane (who is also connected to Lydbrook) composed in Yvonne’s memory. The parts themselves are free to download with the opportunity to donate to the British Heart Foundation. So the concert is connecting so many people together to celebrate the two amazing brass bands people.”
