Brass Spectacular for Cancer Research UK

Blue Coat School Brass Band and VBS Poynton Band will give a concert in aid of Cancer Research UK on 18th March in the Royal Northern College of Music’s Concert Hall. The evening is the brain child of Sam Noden, who will feature along with Sam Smithies as guest soloist at the event. Speaking about the concert Sam stated, “The concert is part of my final year Creative Project at the RNCM where I am studying euphonium. Both of the bands performing in the concert have strong personal links as I was a student at Blue Coat and I joined VBS Poynton three years ago when I began at the RNCM.

“The concert is for Cancer Research UK, a charity that I think does amazing work through clinical research about a disease that sadly affects nearly half the population.”

Tickets for the concert are available at a price of £8 from the RNCM box office: https://www.rncm.ac.uk/performance/blue-coat-band/
