Foden’s Patrons Concert

On Tuesday 18th February Foden's held their annual Patrons Concert to a packed Sandbach School which gave the band chance to thank 500 loyal supporters. The Patrons Society now celebrates 32 years of continued support to the band.

Once again the audience were treated to an entertaining and varied programme under the baton of Michael Fowles which included solos from Mark Wilkinson and Gary Curtin. The concert also gave the band the opportunity to perform 'A Tale as Yet Untold' by Philip Sparke which was directed by Russell Gray ahead of their winning performance at the North West Area on Sunday.

Each year the band members vote for their 'Band’s person and Player of the year.' Iain McKnight was presented with the 'Bands person of the year', in part due to his work coordinating the bands fund raising efforts and logistics to compete at the European Brass Band Championships to be held in Lithuania. Gary Curtin became the 'Player of the Year' due to his fantastic performances in 2019 as well as outstanding playing whilst recording a solo cd to be released in May.
