Double delight for Kirkintilloch Kelvin Band

Kirkintilloch Kelvin Band is very pleased to announce the appointment of Chris Bradley as new resident conductor for KKB. Chris has wide experience from playing in and conducting brass bands in Scotland, and is familiar to us all as the principal cornet of Whitburn Band for many years. Chris has been a guest conductor and tutor with KKB in the past, having most recently worked on last year’s area test piece.

A spokesperson for the band stated, “Although there many fine musicians applied to fill the vacancy, we believe that Chris is the ideal person to help us improve and grow as a musical unit. Chris is delighted to be appointed, and is very much looking forward to working with a stable and hard working band like KKB! He will start working with us on the test piece for the Scottish Championships when we come back after New Year on Monday 6th January in preparation for our first weekend rehearsals with our new professional conductor, Tom Wyss at the end of January.”

KKB are also delighted to be working with Tom Wyss, who will take the band to the Scottish Championships in March. Tom is well known in the brass band world, and has a fantastic amount of experience, as well as being a wonderful musician, “We are really looking forward to this new chapter in the development of our band.”
