Lifetime Award presented to Alex WIlliams  

The Scottish Brass Band Association presented Alex Williams, principal trombonist with the the Barrhead Burgh Band, with a Life Membership Medal in celebration of over 60 years of brass band commitment and dedication.
 
The medal was presented by SBBA Secretary and Barrhead Burgh Chairman Tom Allan at a recent reunion concert for the Gryffe Valley Brass Band at Johnstone Town Hall. Amongst proud family members and former members of Gryffe Valley Brass Band were musicians who have played alongside Alex from Johnstone Junior, Govan Citadel and Barrhead Burgh Bands. Alex is still an active player and holds the solo trombone position at Govan Citadel, the Scottish Fellowship Band of the Salvation Army and Barrhead Burgh.
