Foden's Youth off to the Greatest Start

Over the weekend Foden’s Youth welcomed sixty members who have registered for this academic year. Saturday morning was spent with the youngsters auditioning for seating places in front of the Foden's principal players. Here was then time for a quick Dominos dinner before sectional and full band rehearsals began.

Sunday commenced with a full band warm up before intensive rehearsals and sectionals, where they faced a variety of challenging and engaging works including: The Cossack - William Rimmer, The Guardian Beneath - Andrew Stevenson, Ubi Caritas - Paul Mealor, Introduction - Torstein Aagaard-Nilsen and a Selection from The Greatest Showman. A spokesperson for the band commented, “Despite the youngsters facing a challenging programme both musically and technically the standard was fantastic!”
