Hardraw Scar Festival 2019

Congratulations to Leyburn Band, winners of this year’s Hardraw Scar Festival. Music Adjudicator Andrea Price was suitably impressed by the band’s display under the direction of Rebecca Lundberg and awarded the Best Soloist prize to the MD’s sister Emma, who played ‘Pater Noster’, penned by Rebecca. Entertainment Judges Andrew Potts and Andrew Fake awarded Haslingden & Helmshore the ‘Most Entertaining Band’, in addition to their prize for best march. Best Hymn Tune went to Tintwhistle. Congratulations also go to winners of the B Section Contest, Darwen Brass.
 
The audience was thoroughly entertained in the beautiful setting of the famous waterfall gorge in the heart of Wensleydale in Yorkshire, and for once had beautiful weather to match the scenery and music making. Thanks go to the Yorkshire & Humberside Brass Band Association for organizing the contest with the generous support of local brewers Theakston's.
