RNCM to extend successful Young Middle Brass scheme

The Royal Northern College of Music has announced that the free brass weekend workshops scheme will be extended for another year. The first year of the 'Young Middle Brass' was a terrific success, with almost 70 young tenor horn, baritone and euphonium players participating in the workshops. This year’s events will continue to be run by Junior RNCM tutors Mark Bousie (Euphonium – Foden’s Band) and Helen Varley (Horn – Grimethorpe Colliery Band), with an invitation extended to flugel horn players to join the sessions too.

Organisers Helen and Mark stated, "We were delighted with the success of the workshops, and we have had so much fun this year with youngsters travelling from as far afield as Scotland and London. We've also covered loads of great music, and we'll be making sure this year's workshops are even more fun and inclusive."

The 2019-2020 workshop dates are:
Sunday 22nd September 2019
Sunday 17th November 2019
Sunday 19th January 2020
Sunday 15th March 2020
