2019 South of Ireland Band Championships

The Lourdes Brass Band from Drogheda recently took part in the 40th South of Ireland Band Championships in the picturesque town of Clonakilty. Widely recognized as the nation's most prestigious brass and concert band event, this year saw 28 bands competing across a variety of sections to the delight of adjudicator, Philip Harper.  
 
Lourdes Brass Band, under the skillful direction of Musical Director Michael Alcorn, claimed first prize in the Senior Brass category in addition to their trombone section winning the Robert Tiernan Cup and the band being rewarded for playing the 'Best Celebratory' work.
