Ohio Brass Arts Festival

The 13th annual Ohio Brass Arts Festival hosted by the Central Ohio Brass recently took place at Gahanna Creekside in Ohio. Seven bands took part in the Festival performing impressive programmes, however it was Dublin Silver Band that really wowed the crowds with their winning performance in the annual OBAF Cup Competition.

Adjudicator Dr. Brittany Lasch had the unenviable job of sorting out the results and in the end Dublin Silver beat the hosts Central Ohio into second place. Dublin Silver claimed both the 'Best March' with 'Padstow Lifeboat'and 'Slow Melody' categories playing 'Irish Tune from County Derry'. The band’s soloists were also in superb form and certainly contributed to their winning formula.

Result:
March + Slow Melody = Total
1. Dublin Silver Band (Tim Jameson): 1+1 = 2
2. Central Ohio Brass Band (Jessica Sneeringer): 3+2 = 5*
3. Oakland University Brass Band (Dr. Kenneth Kroesche): 2+3 = 5*
4. Dublin Youth Brass Band (Diana Herak/ Robert Munson): 4+4 = 8
*Overall adjudicator mark takes precedent
