Entries closing for Scottish Open

The Scottish Brass Band Association’s popular Scottish Open Contest will take place on Saturday 23rdNovember in Perth Concert Hall. Bands that wish to compete are urged to make their applications as soon as possible.

 
The contest will commemorate the 150th anniversary of the death of French composer Hector Berlioz, by featuring Howard Snell's arrangement of his overture 'Waverley'. This revised edition for the event will be performed by all bands along with a ‘Fanfare and Concert March’ also by Snell. John Doyle and Alan Fernie will be making the all important decisions as this year’s esteemed adjudicators.
 
Parts for competing bands will be available at end of June. The Fanfare & Concert March will be available free of charge as a download.
