A fanfare for a new house as Jones Homes launches Hade Edge development
A Yorkshire house builder was delighted when a local band offered to officially open its new show home. Jones Homes Yorkshire had pledged a generous £1,000 donation to the Hade Edge Brass Band as part of the developer’s drive to support local community groups. As a thank you, a dozen members of the band, including conductor Jonathan Beatty, played at the opening of the Jones Homes’ show home at its Heather View development at Hade Edge, near Holmfirth.
Showing true community spirit, the band has generously offered a year of free brass band lessons to any children whose families buy homes on the Heather View development.
Ralph Lock, a committee member of Hade Edge Brass Band, said: “The band has been going since 1908, but I don’t think we’ve played in a sales and marketing centre in a showhome before! We haven’t decided what we’ll do with the £1,000 from Jones Homes yet, but I do know that the flooring in our band room needs replacing, so it could go towards that.”
Jayne Swift, Sales and Marketing Director for Jones Homes Yorkshire, said: “Everybody enjoyed the brass band and it was a perfect way to celebrate the opening of our beautiful show home. We’re here to build new homes, yes, but we’re always looking to support the local community as well – and contributing to a local and long-established brass band seemed to us to be a great way of doing that.”
