University North Texas expand their brass faculty 

Following their announcement that David Childs has been made a tenured Professor of the Euphonium, University of North Texas have just added two more members to its illustrious brass faculty. John W. Richmond, Ph.D. Professor & Dean of the College of Music announced, "I am pleased to announce that two distinguished colleagues, Caleb Hudson and Raquel Rodriguez have accepted our invitations to join the Brass Faculty as Assistant Professors of Trumpet (tenure-track)." 

Caleb Hudson is the newest member of the Canadian Brass, having graduated from the Juilliard School with both a Bachelor and Master of Music degree. Possessing a wide range of musical styles, his experience ranges from soloing in Carnegie Hall to appearing with rock band Vampire Weekend on Jimmy Kimmel Live.   

Raquel is principal trumpet of the Bryan Symphony Orchestra and performs with the Brass Arts Quintet. Raquel is principal cornet with the Southern Stars Symphonic Brass Band and a member of Seraph Brass, a brass quintet comprised of top female brass players in North America. In 2013, Raquel recorded “Cincinnati Virtuosity – The Cornet Solos of Frank Simon and Herman Bellstedt” and is a clinician for the Conn-Selmer and Denis Wick Companies.
